SalemOEM-logoSMWelcome to Salem County Office of Emergency Managements central website for information to prepare yourself and your loved ones for emergencies or disasters that may affect our region. The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) plans for and responds to both natural and man-made disasters. These range from floods and hurricanes to incidents involving hazardous materials or nuclear power plants. The OEM develops and implements a Comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan, and routinely conducts exercises to test county and municipal emergency response capabilities.

The Salem County OEM is the liaison with federal and local agencies on emergencies, planning and recovery activities. OEM staff members provide technical assistance to local governments as they prepare emergency plans and procedures. We also conduct emergency operations training for our local governmental agencies.

SalemOEM-1FlagsSalem County Emergency Management maintains a primary Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in Mannington. The EOC serves as the communications and command center for reporting emergencies and coordinating county and municipal response activities. The center maintains 24/7 communications with municipal emergency officials.

During a disaster, please stay tuned to local radio or television stations for up to date information regarding appropriate safety measures. 911 should only be used for emergencies. Follow us on Face book and Twitter to learn about preparedness activities and what the OEM is doing to protect you and your family.
